Are there any age limits?
Any policyholder must be less than 86 years old, but over the age of 18.
Can my children, family, and dependents be covered?
Yes, as long as the main policy holder is within the age limit (18-86) at the inception of the policy.
Even if they’re a newborn?
Yes, as long as the main policy holder is within the age limit (18-86) at the inception of the policy, we can provide cover for even those as young as newborns.
Will I be covered to see a private GP?
Yes, your cover allows you to see a private GP either in-person or online via video chat.
Can I get dental cover?
We do not cover routine dental or procedures such as hygienist services, check-ups, or cosmetic dental surgery.
Can you explain the 5 year ‘No Increase’ contract?
Traditionally, health insurance renewal premiums are calculated by age, inflation, and usage on the policy within the 12 months prior to the renewal date. Our 5 year ‘No Increase’ guarantee ensures that you do not have an increase based on usage and claims, but instead only medical inflation and age.
Do I need a medical appointment or assessment to join?
No, we do not require a medical test or appointment before you join InsuraCare as a new member.
Can I cancel my policy if I relocate from the UK or decide it is not for me?
Yes, you can cancel your policy at any time. If you cancel within 14 days of the policy start date or renewal and haven’t made any claims, we’ll refund you the full premium.
Do I need a referral from a GP to claim?
Yes, you’ll need a referral from a GP in order to claim. If you see your GP or have a video consultation with one via the Digital GP app and they want you to see a specialist, tell them you have private health insurance with InsuraCare. They’ll then give you a referral to see a specialist.
If you ask for an open referral, we can help you find a hospital and specialist that’s covered by your policy.
Remember to always start a claim by calling us first, before you have any tests or treatment, so that you know if your treatment is covered or not.
How do I make a claim?
If you need to make a claim on your health insurance, we’re here to help. Once you’ve been referred by your GP, you can start a claim [insert text here, check details with NF] or by calling us. We’ll just need to know your symptoms, when they started, and what you’ve been referred for.
Can I change my policy mid-term?
Yes, you can make certain changes to your personal or policy details at any time. This might include changing the name, title, or address of anyone on the policy; correcting any information shown on the policy schedule; or removing members from the policy.
To tell us about any changes, you can call us on [insert Best/InsuraCare number here (check which with Bradley)].
At renewal, you can increase or decrease your cover level, as well as add/remove an excess to or from the plan. We’ll need to check your claim history before deciding if we can make these changes and how it might affect how much you pay.
Can I use my policy abroad?
No, you cannot use your policy outside of the United Kingdom.
Will my health insurance premiums change every year?
Premiums are affected by medical inflation and your age. Everyone grows older yearly, so the premium will reflect both your increased age and any medical inflation.
